Getting to Vang Vieng
Vang Vieng is a quaint town located 165 km/ 400 km north of Vientiane, on the road towards Luang Prabang. The overland driving journey can be start from both Vientiane and either Luang Prabang. It takes three to five hours to reach Vang Vieng by bus or car from Luang Prabang (185 km and three hours with the “new road”, 230 km and five hours with the “old road”), and about three hours from Vientiane (160 km).
